Accessories for children: protection for the head, hands, and neck

Whether summer or winter – the right outdoor accessories for children to protect them from the sun, cold, wind, or rain are a must in every season. Among the most important items your kids need when out and about are caps and hats – depending on the season. Children also need effective protection for their hands – in every season. But the sensitive neck area also needs to be well protected from the cold, which you can do with various scarves and shawls.

Activities only with suitable children's headgear

Young children are particularly sensitive to the effects of strong sunlight and should always wear a sun hat or cap with high integrated sun protection during all kinds of outdoor activities. In the cold season, on the other hand, a warm hat protects against wind and cold. It is important that these hats are windproof and robust. You can choose between different models:

  • Windproof fleece hats, which leave only the eye area exposed
  • Classic hats
  • Simple headbands that keep your forehead and ears warm
  • You will also find cheeky reversible hats made of merino wool in a two-tone design and fun pointed knit hats in Transa's hat range.

For summer, you can choose from a variety of fashionable sun hats. Some models have an extended brim at the back to protect your neck from the sun. In addition to wearing a sun hat, you should of course not forget to apply sunscreen to your face and neck. This is even more important the higher you are in the mountains, where the sun's rays are more intense than at lower altitudes.

No more cold hands thanks to children's gloves

On cold days, children's hands should be well protected. Here you have a choice of different glove models. They are available as simple mittens for babies and toddlers, but also as gloves for older children who want to remain a little more mobile with their fingers. Reliable insulation (for example, with a cozy fleece lining) is important to keep hands warm in wet and cold conditions.

Practical details

An extended cut is also useful, as it allows the gloves to extend well beyond the wrist and, in combination with a jacket, prevents cold air or moisture from penetrating the end of the sleeve. The option to connect two gloves is also very practical, as this means they can always be stored together as a pair when not in use, reducing the likelihood of them getting lost. Thanks to removable inner gloves, some glove models are versatile and can be adapted to the respective temperatures.

Windproof and waterproof

When skiing or snowboarding, gloves must of course be completely waterproof and very robust so that children's hands stay nice and warm and dry. For cold and dry days, your children will also be well equipped with cozy soft fleece gloves, which are available as mittens or as gloves with flexible fingers. Transa also offers children's wrist warmers made of stretch fleece with thumb holes.
