Collection: Equipment - Hygiene & First Aid - First Aid Kits

First aid kit for greater safety when traveling

Whether you're on an outdoor tour through the mountains or a camping trip with the family, injuries can unfortunately always happen. For this reason, you should always have a first aid kit with you so that you can quickly and easily provide first aid for wounds. This way, you'll be on the safe side if something does happen and can bridge the gap until further help is available.

First aid kits are available in many different versions. There are small versions with only a few accessories, which are usually sufficient for minor injuries, as well as larger kits that are equipped with even more equipment, such as a poison extractor, which you will only need in remote areas. You can also find hygiene sprays, rescue blankets, and many other items that are useful additions to a first aid kit here in the Transa Outdoor online shop.

First aid kit: weatherproof, small, and handy

A first aid bag or first aid kit is essential when touring remote areas. To ensure that it fulfills its purpose on the go, it should meet certain criteria.

You can recognize a good first aid kit by the following features:

  • It is robust, weatherproof, washable, and can withstand extreme weather conditions.
  • Thanks to waterproof outer materials, everything is safely protected from moisture.
  • It is lightweight, so the kit does not weigh down your luggage unnecessarily.
  • It can be stored in your backpack to save space.
  • The material (e.g., polyamide with polyurethane coating) is tear-resistant and cannot be easily damaged.
  • Inside, you will find numerous useful additional compartments and dividers so that everything has its place and you can quickly find the right accessories in an emergency.
  • You can close the set securely, usually with a zipper around the entire circumference.
  • A practical loop also allows you to attach it to your belt, provided it is a very small kit.
  • There are first aid kits that already come with the most essential accessories such as bandages, plasters, scissors, and the like. Alternatively, you can fill an empty first aid bag with everything you need for your next trip.
  • If you are traveling to certain regions of the world where medical care is very poor or often unhygienic, a more comprehensive first aid kit is recommended. Surgical tools, extensive bandaging material, infusion needles, ventilation caps, vinyl gloves, tweezers, safety pins, and much more for hygienic first aid belong in an extended first aid kit.

Even more emergency equipment for special emergencies

Whether spiders, snakes, or scorpions, in some areas a bite or sting can be life-threatening. You can prevent the poison from spreading in the body with a special vacuum suction device. This is also useful for wasp and bee stings, for example to minimize the risk of an allergic shock.

Another essential item for when you're on the go is an antibacterial hand sanitizer gel, which allows you to quickly and reliably remove germs from your hands so that you can work hygienically with your first aid kit.

In areas with lots of mosquitoes, a cooling spray is also recommended to soothe the skin after insect bites. It also provides pleasant cooling for bruises.

A good rescue blanket is always recommended, for example to protect injured people in mountain accidents from hypothermia. These blankets also reflect the sun's rays, providing protection against overheating.
