Corvus Freebird

With the Corvus Freebird, Black Crows breaks with their tradition of building touring skis from a paulownia-poplar core. Instead, a pure poplar core is used.

This gives the ski enormous stability, good damping and a high level of smooth-running, which in turn is in keeping with the tradition of the (heavier) Corvus. While it shares its DNA with the Corvus, the Corvus Freebird is a different creature.

Together with the new shape - shorter rocker, flatter tail, slightly more tiptaper - the result is an extremely lively touring ski. In summary: not a traditional (touring) core, but traditionally a stable, versatile touring ski.

The Corvus Freebird has always been synonymous with big mountain touring. It impresses with an excellent balance of uphill and downhill performance and a great medium to stiff flex. A ski that delivers excellent downhill performance in all conditions, whether powder, broken snow or icy gullies.

At 1900 grams per ski, it is certainly not for gram hunters. But if you're looking for a ski that you can really let rip on tours, combine it with a hybrid binding such as the Shift or Duke PT and use it as a 50/50 ski, your search has come to an end.
