Magnesiumfeuerzeug

The Coghlans magnesium lighter consists of a piece of magnesium with an embedded ignition stone. A small amount of magnesium is scraped off and ignited using the back of the knife and the ignition stone. The ignition flame has such a high heat value that almost all flammable materials can be ignited. The glistening, hot flame (2980 °C) starts the fire - several hundred times.
