The Dalbello Quantum Free 130 is a versatile (free)touring boot. Its innovative, two-piece shell and cuff construction ensures low weight, an anatomical fit and high rigidity. It hardly restricts freedom of movement, so that you can ascend more efficiently and with less effort. The two-piece X Dual Link cuff scores points with a shaft rotation of more than 65 degrees. Together with the weight of just 1250 grams (for size 26.5), you'll almost fly upwards. Despite all this, the Quantum Free shows its true colors on the downhill. Thanks to the ski/walk mechanism, you can switch from walking to downhill mode very quickly. Admittedly, in our opinion, the Quantum Free 130 does not achieve the stated flex index of 130. However, this touring boot can be used to steer many a wider touring ski with incredible precision and power. On the descent, the large two-piece cuff transmits the steering impulses directly, gives great grip and great ski control. In addition, the shell, which is welded together from two halves using infrared, two buckles and a power strap with clamp make for a real powerhouse on the descent. The light, yet comfortable and precise IF Touring Pro inner shoe with high-density padding, pre-shaped ankle area and full lacing certainly also contributes to the excellent downhill performance. Of course, it can be adapted to the individual foot shape. A profiled Vibram Dual Density Rocker sole provides good grip when walking and climbing as well as play-free power transmission to the binding type and skiing. To summarize: The really special features compared to other freetouring shoes are the low weight and the extremely smooth shaft rotation of 65 degrees. Anyone who is used to other (current) freetouring shoes will be surprised at how efficient and enjoyable the ascent could actually be or is with the Quantum Free 130.
