The MSR tent pole repair rail is simply pushed over the poles in the event of a pole breakage and acts as a splint for the breakage. The diameter in millimetres refers to the maximum outer diameter of the poles to be repaired. To be on the safe side, you should also have adhesive/fabric tape ready to fix the sleeve in place. The repair rail is available in two sizes - 13 and 16 millimeters.
