Do you love camping in the great outdoors or at a campsite? Then you not only need a spacious tent, but also the necessary accessories such as tent pegs, guy ropes, and sturdy tent poles. In our range, you will find replacement pole arches and complete pole sets that allow you to set up your tent securely. Make sure that they match the length and diameter of your tent type.

Tent poles: robust, safe, and durable

With sturdy tent poles and other accessories, your tent will remain secure even when the wind blows over the tent fabric. However, tent poles must meet certain criteria.

You can recognize good tent poles by the following features:

  • The material (e.g., aluminum) is lightweight, yet sturdy and durable. It should be rust-free if possible.
  • Tent poles are sturdy, water- and dirt-repellent.
  • After use, you can dismantle or fold them up to save space so that they don't take up much room in your luggage.
  • Tent poles (e.g., fiberglass poles) are available in many different sizes, so you can take the right models for your specific use.
  • They are very quick and easy to set up. Your tent will be ready for the night in no time.
  • You can take them with you as replacements for missing or broken tent poles, so you always have the right replacement with you when you're on the go.
  • The tent poles are easy to care for. You can simply wipe off dirt with a soft, damp cloth before stowing the poles back in your luggage after use.
  • An extra pack bag is handy for storing your tent poles safely.

Tent pegs: for optimal hold in any ground

Are you already planning your next outdoor overnight stay in a tent? It is important that you always have enough sturdy pegs and guy ropes with you to secure the tent on different types of ground. Especially when it is very windy, it is better to have more than too few pegs so that your tent does not fly away overnight.

There are different types of tent pegs that are suitable for hard ground or for sand and snow. Depending on whether you are spending the night on a campsite or in the great outdoors, at Transa you can choose the right tent pegs for a firm and secure anchorage of your tent, sun sail, or tarp. Although tent pegs are usually included with tents and other camping equipment, you should also take different types of pegs with you for overnight stays on varying surfaces.

Tent pegs: practical, reliable, and robust

The better you secure the pegs in the ground, the longer your tent will withstand wind and weather.

You can recognize good tent pegs by the following features:

  • The material (e.g., duralumin, steel, carbon fiber, titanium, polyamide) varies in robustness depending on the model. Highly impact-resistant ground pegs, such as steel pegs, are suitable for extremely hard ground, while plastic pegs can be fixed very well in snow or sand.
  • When inserted into the ground, the pegs remain stable and do not bend.
  • Pre-mounted loops on the pegs allow you to remove them easily when you want to break camp quickly and dismantle your shelter.
  • On some models, these loops are equipped with reflective elements
  • .
  • Thanks to these, you will no longer trip over the pegs at night.
  • A practical solution is a pack bag in which all pegs can be stored safely.

What are the differences?

There are a variety of different pegs that are suitable for different purposes.

Standard pegs

These are the hook-shaped pegs that usually come with every tent. It is suitable for soft to loamy soil. However, there should be no hard objects such as stones etc. in the ground.

Tent pegs for loose soil

If the ground is very sandy or even covered with a thick layer of snow, special sand or snow pegs are used – usually made of plastic. Their large contact surface ensures that the peg holds well even in loose snow or sand.

Ground nails for hard ground

This type of tent peg is mainly used for marquees, but ground nails are also sometimes used for trekking or camping. This is always the case when the ground is really hard and the peg has to be hammered into the ground like a nail. Ground nails look like real nails, and their special shape prevents the peg from bending when hammered in.

Press, screw, hammer, or knock

You can either simply press the pegs into the ground by hand or screw them in, hammer them in, or sink them into small crevices. If you are going on longer trips and expect to encounter different types of ground, you should take different types of pegs with you in your camping equipment. Additional security for your tent includes sandbags, heavy stones, and guy ropes that can be attached to trees.
